Cibolo Creek Ranch is the finest luxury hotel in West Texas and a historic Texas legacy. It is located on a 30 000 acre working cattle ranch in the Big Bend of the Rio Grande. The ranch was founded in 1857 and features three restored historic adobe forts which were built to fend off attacks by Apaches Commanches and bandits from both sides of the border. We have earned three listings in the National Register of Historic Places. We offer discriminating travelers rich history; spectacular vistas; warm hospitality; savory cuisine; and a magical blend of adventure and serenity. Some guests like adventure and the opportunities are plentiful. Our most popular activity is a mountain Humvee tour which climbs a thousand feet into the mountains behind Fort Cibolo and offers spectacular views of the Big Bend area and the mountains across the Rio Grande in Mexico. You can also enjoy ATV adventures; horseback rides; hike through canyons; explore Indian caves; scale cliffs; or visit a ghost town of ruins. The ranch has abundant wildlife to photograph including Texas Longhorns; buffalo; mule deer; aoudad; elk; turkeys; quail; eagles; over 500 species of birds. Other guests enjoy the opportunity for serenity and solitude and relax by the pool or treat themselves to a massage or facial in the spa. Our modern spacious accommodations are in newly constructed haciendas located next to the forts in buildings designed to blend in with the forts 1850s architecture. Rough hewn cottonwood beam ceilings span the handmade adobe walls and Saltillo tile floors. Ultra soft pillows; down comforters; and silky smooth sheets. All of the guest rooms have adobe fireplaces to warm winter nights. Amenities
